“When you ain’t got a horse, you ride the cow.”
— NORMA MILLER, legendary Lindy hopper and the Queen of Swing, quoting her mother on how to get through the hard times
I thought about my grandparents (born during the turn of the century) and my parents (growing up before Civil Rights) when I first heard this. They were experts at riding that cow so that when I came along, I didn’t have to ride one quite as much.

Thanks. I was lucky enough to be on the right channel at the right time the other day when an awesome documentary about Ms. Miller came on. 🙂
