One-Liner Wednesday — Give someone a small vacation today.

I was a young mother in the late 80s, I think, when I noticed pioneer and comedienne Joan for the first time. She was doing a monologue on nighttime TV, and said that the only reason she’d gotten pregnant with Melissa was because her husband Edgar Rosenberg tossed and turned in his sleep.

The studio audience cracked up as she imitated herself trying to “get the job done” during his tossing and turning in bed.

That got a belly laugh out of me, and cemented her in my mind. May she rest in peace.
