Let me say, right off the bat, that I know from experience that closed captions aren’t easy to do.
I transcribed meetings verbatim for the CDC here in Atlanta some 10 years ago, part-time, and I was fortunate indeed to be able to do it from home, after the fact. I can’t imagine having to get all of that scientific jargon down in actual meetings as it was being said. *shudder*
Still, some of the captions I see when watching the Toob make me grimace in pain or bust a gut laughing. You would not find these folks working at “Captions R Us.” ๐
Painful. What the heck? A deadly volcano could have (could’ve) erupted, maybe? I don’t know if Krakatoa could stop time, but this caption stopped me dead in my tracks.
Bust a gut. No, this is not Ludacris (the rapper from Atlanta), but I’m pretty sure the situation this character is talking about is just as ludicrous as this caption. Mercy. LOL!
